Senior School (Grade 9 to Grade 12)

Ages 14 to 17

 

Subject Options for I.C.S.E (Grades 9 &10)

Specialist teaching in the Secondary School guides students towards their choices for higher education, and enables them to focus on their eventual career choice.

Students are expected to study six subjects for the I.C.S.E Examination. As per the requirement of the Ministry of Education, UAE, all students must study Arabic as an additional subject up to Grade 9.

All Muslim students will have to study Islamic Education.

SCIENCE STREAM

Students opting for Science in Grade 9 should have secured an average of 65% in science in Grade 8 exam.

Group I

Compulsory

2. Second Language (Hindi or French or Malayalam)

3. Social Studies (History-Civics and Geography)

Group II

Compulsory 

4. Mathematics

5. Science (Physics, Chemistry & Biology)

*These subjects will only be offered provided sufficient number of students opt for them.

Group I

Subject Options for I.S.C (Grades 11 &12)

Students must select five subjects in all from the six groups given below.

  • English from Group 1 is compulsory
  • The remaining four subjects are to be selected from ANY four groups out of the five groups (Group 2 -6). Only one subject per group to be selected.
  • Students who have taken Commerce in Grade 10 are not permitted to choose Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
  • Students opting for subject choices of Physics/ Chemistry/ Biology/ Computer Science/ Mathematics should have secured 65% marks in each of the subjects in the Grade 10 Preliminary Examinations.

Evaluation at the end of Grade 9 and 11 is done internally by the school, while evaluation at the end of Grades 10 and 12 is conducted by the Council The I.C.S.E and I.S.C. examinations are held in March and the results are usually declared in the last week of May of the same year.
